The Plough Inn does some really great food â¬ I mean seriously, really great! We stayed for a few nights and the accommodation was really nice, and the bar also was very welcoming with some really nice ales on tap. But the food is really worth a special mention â¬ the chef does an absolutely amazing steak and ale pie, while the rest of the excellent range on the menu is also extremely nice. Well done, Plough! The Crown at Giddea Hall tends to get overlooked. Itâ¬"s a lovely little Inn to get a few nightâ¬"s sleep in, and the interior decor is fantastically rustic, warm and welcoming. Literally the only thing I could maybe complain about â¬ and it is minor â¬ is the size of the rooms really are quite small, although this isnâ¬"t really the kind of place where youâ¬"ll be staying more than a few nights, so itâ¬"s definitely perfectly fine.The Crown at Giddea Hall tends to get overlooked. It's a nice little country style pub on the outskirts of Chippenham.

The Pheasant tends to boast a quiet atmosphere to drink or eat in, as it is really homely and serves good, wholesome pub food.

The food is ok, and so are the beers.
It doesn't blow me away, and never has, but I haven't been back in a few months so maybe it's worth another look.

Another good pub to watch live sports in, as they have a number os TV screens and large ones at that!!

The beer selection is ok, and the atmosphere is always good if there is a game on Sky Sports, so you know what you are going to get when you turn up.

This place does THE NICEST Sunday roasts ever!!

We have been quite a few times, and I have never been disappointed.

Sometimes they are so busy that the service can be a little slow, but the quality of the food is never in question, so it is generally worth the wait!!

Definitely a good place to go for a meal, and they also have some good ales on tap, and a nice selection of wines.

I have never had a bad meal at The Rising Sun, and would thoroughly recommend it for either a quite pint or a nice experience eating out.

The food is always of a good standard, and I am particularly fond of their Sunday roasts....probably a little TOO fond!!

This is a regular favourite for us as Lacock is such a nice place to visit, and walk off lunch afterwards.

I think this pub will always hold fun memories for me, because it was my first local. We used to go there every Friday night for a pint and many games of pool!!

There's always a friendly atmosphere in here, and I have to say it feels a little like a second home when I go back there.

The Bear is a wonderful place. The building itself is an amazing historic building with stunning architecture, while itâ¬"s full of an immensely friendly atmosphere since itâ¬"s a hugely popular place with the locals. As an inn itâ¬"s really top class too â¬ the landlord is so friendly and helpful, the rooms really nice and comfortable, and the food very nice and fresh. This is the pub that would always be visited on the starting leg of a Chippenham pub crawl.

It would also be the one you could quite happily end up in, especially if you wanted to do Karaoke, as they offer this some nights over the week and weekend.

A good selection of beers on tap, and an atmosphere ranging from quiet (at the start of the night) to rowdy (after 10pm on a Friday at least!!)This is the pub that would always be visited on the starting leg of a Chippenham pub crawl.

Decided to pull off the motorway for Sunday lunch and came across this delightful village pub. Very warm and welcoming! Food was gorgeous, had deep fried cheeses to start and roast beef for main!!
Portion sizes on the starters are huge could not finish main courses so order with caution!!

I don't like chain pubs. Never have and never will but... the Old Lane does have a range of beers at very good prices and reasonable food which again doesn't break the bank. Add to that big screen television for the football and a large outside area and this is not a bad pub. In my humble opinion the residents of Pewsham could have a far worse "estate pub" than the Old Lane

In May 2007 my football team got to the playoffs and Iwatched both legs of the semi-final and the final here. I sat in comfort and each time had a three course meal and about three pints, a thorougly nice time (we won) and went home with change from ÃÂ£20!I don't like chain pubs.
